I was adopted by a cat when I was born and she was my best friend until her death when I was 16. Animals are fascinating and are an essential part of my life.

I always loved animals and as soon as I was adult enough adopted as many as I could. Started my vet tech program but life got too busy to complete my schooling. Since then, I have become a part of rescue groups and have assisted in transports and fostering.

I've always had an interest in animals to the point i planned to be a veterinarian from birth. But, when it came to it, I couldn't tolerate the goo! Definitely don't have the fortitude for surgeries and bloodwork and such. Sooooo...plan B became volunteering and after many years I started my own non-profit to help fill gaps and provide support for other groups through advocacy and resource development. I started after adopting my first boxer from`a local shelter in 2003. I didn't know at the time that there was such a thing as rescues or even breed-specific rescues. After doing more research I filled out my first foster application in 2004 and have been involved ever since. In 2008 I could no longer foster due to my health but I have been able to still help with sending letters for donations, listing pets for adoption, Facebook posts, and more.

I started when mckamey animal center was built, just to help out. Ten years later I am still volunteering. I fell in love with the Fairbanks and wi!l do everything I can to find them a home. I started the Golden Nuggets, a page for senior dogs.

I was tired of working in a job that didn't pay my soul. I made a rock-bottom budget and went to find a job that would make me happy and I found that working in Animal Rescue!
