This could be an activity (like a roundtable), a presentation topic, etc.
What is one thing you'd like to see or do more of at conferences and seminars?

More in-depth social media & marketing. We all know how valuable social media and the internet in general is in raising funds, educating our communities, and finding adopters, volunteers, and fosters. However, I feel like every single social media session I attend goes over the basic things over and over again. Not that the basics shouldn't be covered, but conferences/webinars have been covering them for years now. I'd love to see something more in-depth for those of us who have been through the basics. I'd love to know more about making effective ad campaigns, leveraging insights, how & where to market an event vs. an adoptable pet, how to use google's free ads for non-profits, social media management tools, etc.

WHEN are we going to get with today's reality, and start using webinar coverage for those who are to busy or to poor to attend? I will never to attend because A. I am too handicapped to walk distances, B) Altho we gave $788966 work of inkind pet items to all 15 counties in Arizona, we did this on $19.500 cash. That cash goes to our programs to fill the gaps for those few places we cannot get donated, like storage, gasoline and hotel accomodations... I would offer you my Citrix go to webinsar set up, if I thought you would take that!

Check out what we have to offer for Animal Care Expo 2020 including 99 sessions to choose from. Based on attendee feedback we are making our round table discussions longer and, as always, we'll have over 200 exhibitors! https://www.animalsheltering.org/expo

Training shelter or dogs in rescue for folks in community rehab houses assimilating back into their communities. Guess would be similar to prison program.
And programs using mapping or GIS programs to target everything from marketing, raising funds, and where to focus boots on the ground work. We are doing the work but would LOVE to hear from a professional about applications.

I'd love to see more time networking with one another. When I go to conferences/seminars, it's great to hear speakers don't get me wrong, but having those connections during breaks and meeting fellow shelter employees is so valuable when needing help or reaching out for advice. I also think more focus should be put on trainings around Compassion Fatigue as mental health and oftentimes feeling burdened and overwhelmed are a true part of this industry, and not every facility has the resources to do trainings on this topic. It's important for our team!
