Does anyone know of any research that has been done about how naming of shelter animals can affect their adoptions? I have heard from a couple of people that giving "weird" names will attract attention to the animals, but names like Cindy Fluffypants, or Peter Pepperpicker, or Sergeant Golden Paws just seems a little off to me. I've seen several articles on line from the ASPCA, etc. that indicated that names people can relate to are best choices. Anything that someone might be able to shed light on this subject? Thanks.
