We received the following notification from Humane Society of North Central Florida:

"The Humane Society of North Central Florida, in partnership with Wings of Rescue, will be transporting 35 cats and kittens from shelters across North Central Florida from Gainesville Regional Airport tomorrow, Saturday, August 31st.

The cats are being transported to Wisconsin Humane Society and HAWS (Humane Animal Welfare Society) on a flight operated by Wings of Rescue. We must also thanks GreaterGood.org for their support in the form of in-kind donations that make these transports possible.

The cats being transported came from shelters across North Central Florida in order to make space to take in displaced pets after Hurricane Dorian. The Humane Society of North Central Florida remains poised to take in additional pets from affected shelters and will serve as a regional distribution hub for disaster relief supplies for rescues and shelters in Dorian’s path.

Tomorrow’s flight will arrive at GNV at 11:45am and will depart from the private side of Gainesville Regional Airport at 12:30pm with the plane’s arrival scheduled for 11:45am."
